Abstract
Purpose: This study evaluate the environmental noise during CT examination of short rotation noise and satisfaction of noise reduction methods using headset.

Material and Methods: The 60 patients examined with CT rotation time (0.25 sec, 0.28 sec) by three type CT scanner. Noise of CT examination measured with 0.5 sec, 0.25 sec, and 0.28 sec rotation time by noise dosimeter. Subjective noise was measured by measuring the level of anxiety before and after the inspection by all of the profile of mood state (POMS) of control group, by means of a visual upper-level scale (VAS), and by means of a noise reduction measure, the experimental group wore a headset to measure the satisfaction of the questionnaire after the inspection.

Results: The results showed that the maximum values were 71.2 dB at 0.5 sec, 74.2 dB at 0.28 sec, 77.3 dB at SOMATOM Force 0.25 sec, and 78.8 dB at GE s Resolution 0.28 sec. The qualitative analysis showed that the subjective noise level (VAS) was 6.5 points on average for the control group and 3.5 points for the experimental group. The POMS questionnaire showed that the degree of anxiety before and after the test was reduced by 1.3 points on average for the control group and 5.2 points on average for the experimental group wearing headset, resulting in a significantly lower subjective instability than that of the control group (p=0.000).

Cnculusion: We tried to reduce anxiety by wearing headset, and both quantitative and qualitative assessments felt low rotational noise in the headset-clad experimental group and were more satisfied with the test.
